As a System Administrator on our IT Operations team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the stability and efficiency of our IT infrastructure. We value a willingness to learn over having all the skills from day one, so don't hesitate to apply even if you don't meet every requirement.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist with basic administration and troubleshooting tasks in Linux, macOS, and Microsoft Windows environments, including Active Directory.
• Support the maintenance of cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Oracle Cloud) under guidance from senior staff.
• Help with administration and basic troubleshooting of Microsoft 365, Atlassian Cloud, and Moodle LMS.
• Assist in routine Oracle Database tasks, with opportunities to learn more advanced skills.
• Support the operation of on-premises virtualization technologies such as VMware and Proxmox.
• Learn to administer container platforms like Docker, Podman, or Kubernetes, as part of the team.
• Participate in automated testing and scripting activities, with training provided as needed.
• Monitor system performance and assist in ensuring the reliability and availability of IT systems; familiarity with tools like Icinga or OpenVAS is a plus, but not required.
• Help implement and manage backup and disaster recovery procedures.
• Gain experience with firewalls and networking concepts; assist in managing appliances from Fortinet, HPE, or Ubiquiti.
• Perform regular system updates and patches with supervision to maintain security.
• Assist in troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues, including DNS and connectivity problems.
• Work with IT and development teams to support new technology solutions.
• Help document system configurations, procedures, and IT policies.
• Ensure compliance with company IT policies.
• Provide on-site IT support at the Dresden office as needed.
• Occasionally provide on-site support at the Salt Lake City office.

Your professional qualifications:

• Information technology related degree.
• Mac Book familiarity or support experience.
• Oracle DBA.
• Linux Admin.
• Container software (Docker, Podman, Kubernetes).
• Automated testing (scripting, containers, VM, AWS).
• DNS, Network, connectivity troubleshooting (office, customer, application, VPN).

Administrative documents must-have:

• US Citizenship.
